Uncertain about Divorce: (2-4 hours) If one or both of you aren’t positive you want to divorce, we will do an initial intake to determine which way we are likely to move— toward divorce, or toward a healthier partnership. I can hear your challenges, listen to what you’ve tried so far, and give honest feedback.

Separation and Divorce

  • Phase 1 (2- 4 hours)

    • We will set a timeline together, and I will walk you through what to expect.

    • We set goals and standards for your future relationship, parenting, finances, and living situation.

    • I will educate you on what you will be facing with paperwork, emotions, options for dissolution, recommended resources and readings, common pitfalls, boundaries to set with extended and nuclear family, and agreements on how to proceed without conflict. I will also educate you on the cost of divorce if you have extended conflict.

    • We talk through all major areas to consider, what the courts typically would be awarding for parenting time and financial arrangements, and identify where your sticking points may be going forward. We define a plan that will work for your situation best.

  • Phase 2 (4-6 hours)

    • I write up your parenting plan, dissolution paperwork, and your agreed upon financial arrangements.

    • You both sign and I show you how to file with the court without legal representation, although at this point you may each secure a lawyer to review before filing. (Recommendations available).

  • Phase 3 (0-4 hours)

  • We set aside time for a weekly check-in, either by phone or in person, to check on progress and monitor goals and assignments that were given to you. I coach and advise you through any necessary next steps.

Healthy Partnership

  • Phase 1 : (4-8 hours)

    • If you’re moving toward a healthier partnership, our next few times together won’t be sitting on a couch, talking about your upbringing or what you despise about each other— no crying or yelling allowed.

    • We will do something active in my home or yours for an hour, so that I can get to know you more closely. Next, we have a heart to heart and set your goals together.

      • Possible activities we can do: You teach me your favorite recipe to cook together; I teach you my family’s sauce recipe; a walk in either of our neighborhoods, a PINS outing followed by a quiet cocktail for further conversation, or even an hour of Karaoke.

  • Phase 2: (4-6 hours)

    • I give honest feedback about what I see, and how best to move forward. This will include education around the issues that keep getting you stuck, and writing goals and an action plan on how to move forward. Some people may need more in-depth therapy, but most couples just need a few tweaks, believe it or not!

  • Phase 3: (0-4 hours)

    • We set aside time for weekly check-ins, either in person or by phone, to check on progress and monitor goals and assignments that were given to you. I coach and advise you through any necessary next steps.
